The pretty conservation town of Ballater, located in the heart of beautiful Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire, is the principal town of the eastern half of the Cairngorms National Park. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful part of Scotland and it is a great favourite of both walkers and cyclists.

Near Ballater lies the Royal Castle of Balmoral, holiday home for the Royal Family. The charming railway station in the centre of Ballater, which was much used by visitors to Balmoral (especially Queen Victoria) is now a visitor and Tourist Information centre. Today, many shops display Royal Warrants and the town celebrates Victoria Week annually in August.

The southern border of Ballater is formed by the River Dee, one of Scotland’s finest salmon rivers, and adjacent to the river lies Ballater Caravan Park. The park caters not only for caravans and motorhomes but also offers great facilities for camping. The park is located half of a mile from the centre of Ballater with its variety of shops and restaurants and just one quarter of a mile from the golf and bowling clubs. This quiet and beautiful location combined with so many facilities within easy walking distance makes the park very popular with its visitors, especially those using motorhomes.

Surrounded by hills and delightful scenery, visitors to Ballater Caravan Park will quickly recognise why Queen Victoria referred to Royal Deeside as her ‘Dear Paradise’.

We look forward to welcoming you.

I struggle to think of a site in the U.K. that we've liked more than this. Nice view, great location to pop into town, great facilities, good sized pitches and great base for mountain biking. We loved it.

Brilliant park. Modern clean toilets and showers with a great playpark. Didn't want to go home!

Third visit this year and never have we been let down, it’s always a pleasure to visit this site and area in particular, it is so beautiful, peaceful and the people are so very nice. The site staff work so hard to uphold the high standard they have set and it is a credit to them that standard is maintained throughout the season until the last day. It is easy to say nothing is a problem to them because genuinely, nothing is a problem for them, the staff really want you to enjoy your stay and for you to return to see them.
